What this information means
Public IP address and location
The public IP address is the one our API sees for this request. It may differ from your device’s address on a local network. The country or region is based on IP geolocation data and can help you check your current route’s exit location. Geolocation databases may not be up to date, so this information does not establish your device’s actual location.
ISP and proxy detection
The ISP field identifies the internet service provider associated with the address. Proxy detection depends on the identification data returned by our API and is for reference only. “Not detected” does not guarantee anything about your connection method or privacy. If the API does not provide this field, the page will say it is temporarily unavailable.
DNS SETTINGS
DNS leak check
The public IP result above does not show whether DNS requests use the same route. This page does not run a DNS leak test. Follow the steps below to check your connection and DNS settings.

Confirm your route is connected
Check that your route is connected in the client, then return to this page and run another lookup. Compare the exit region selected in the client with the country or region shown here to check whether your traffic is still using its original public IP address.

Review your DNS settings
Check whether the client is set to handle DNS requests through the active route, and review the DNS settings currently in use by your operating system. If other network management tools are running on your device, check whether their DNS settings conflict with the active connection.

IP lookups and DNS tests are different
Your public IP address, DNS servers, and website lookup results are separate pieces of information. A difference between a server’s location and your exit region does not by itself indicate a leak. Consider your client settings and the actual path taken by DNS queries.
After connecting to or switching routes, check your public IP address again. To troubleshoot DNS, review your device and client settings separately; this page’s IP results are not a DNS test report.
